If any band can successfully put affairs of the heart of today’s teenagers to words and music, then it’s Tokio Hotel. When the Magdeburg four sing of love, rage and desperation, the words that roll over their tongues are at times defiant, at others vulnerable. A gruff guitar sound drives forth the songs that are marked by their simple, straightforward melodies. Whether balladic or tough: Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav have found their way into the hearts of a huge community of fans right from the beginning. Tokio Hotel is a phenomenon that nobody has really been able to ignore over the past two years. It all started in Spring 2005, with the catchy tune "Durch den Monsun". Those who believed in a one-hit wonder at the time were put right – the song triggered the group’s swift ascent. The success of the wild-looking boys is established above all in the authenticity of the band. They write all their own lyrics and have a say in composing the tunes as well. That’s how they speak for an entire generation. They were able to trade in their boy band image and are now accepted as serious, young musicians – at home and abroad. The proof is sold-out concerts in France, Poland or England.
