"According to the usual TV recipes, "Der Teufelsbraten" makes lots of mistakes: Dialect is spoken and the main character is simultaneously played by actresses of varying ages. But the 'mistakes' turn out to be a real trump card. A girl’s struggle for education within a precisely and lovingly portrayed environmental background, excellent actors and a refreshing pinch of humor are a winning combination. A homeland film without a trace of kitsch", the jury noted in making their choice.
