Violinist David Garrett will accept the award in the category "Best International Music Artist" on January 30, 2010 at the 45th awards presentation of the GOLDEN CAMERA from HÖRZU, hosted by entertainer Hape Kerkeling.
The 29-year-old German-American fills the most important international concert halls and is deemed to be the most successful classical star in the world. Garrett already began playing the violin at the age of four and perfected his technique as virtuoso at the age of seventeen, in the New York master class under Itzhak Perlman.
"His success can be followed along a route from America over Asia and on to Europe, and more specifically Germany. With his unconventional manner and presentation, David Garrett has even been successful in introducing the younger generation to classical music and awakening their enthusiasm for this art form", says HÖRZU in regard to the award.
