Prize winner Denzel Washington - Category "Best International Actor"

The American actor Denzel Washington regularly stands in front of the camera since 1977 and has performed in great Hollywood productions like "Malcolm X", "Philadelphia" and "The Preacher’s Wife." The 57-year-old has also made a name for himself as director and producer.
In addition to several nominations, Denzel Washington is also a two-time winner of the Oscar: in 1990 for his role in "Glory", which was also responsible for his breakthrough in the movie business, and in 2001 for "Training Day". Denzel Washington is the second African-American actor who has received an Oscar as Best Actor. He is also winner of two Golden Globes and a multitude of additional awards.
"Denzel Washington is an exceptionally expressive actor. He exudes natural authority and is therefore so credible in his roles as a leader. He often presents an intact system of values to the audience, and in doing so, becomes a model and archetype of ethical principles. At the same time, his extraordinary versatility enables him to master a wide range of roles.
This versatility can be admired in his current production "Safe House", where he plays a fugitive criminal," says the jury of the GOLDEN CAMERA AWARD from HÖRZU about honoring Denzel Washington.
On February 4, 2012, Europe’s leading weekly program magazine HÖRZU presented the GOLDEN CAMERA AWARD in the category "Best International Actor" to Denzel Washington.
